Kyrgyzstan Business Forum 2025
The third Business and Familiarisation mission for Finnish companies to Kyrgyzstan will be organized in cooperation with the Embassy of Finland in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, the ministries responsible for economic relations in Kyrgyzstan (Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy and the Council of State), UNDP and Honorary Consul of Kyrgyzstan Petri Numminen on 23.–27.5.2025. The trip will be led by Ambassador Janne Heiskanen from the Embassy of Astana.
During the mission, it is possible to get acquainted with Kyrgyzstan’s business opportunities, partners, authorities, ongoing and future national and international projects, project financiers and, of course, Kyrgyz companies.
The B2B business meetings and company visits of the participating companies are tailored according to the industries and wishes of the companies.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and other international and national institutes finance many projects in Kyrgyzstan. These include water supply, energy and road networks, tourism and agricultural development. In addition, bilateral development cooperation between Finland and Kyrgyzstan is significant. Finland supports, among other things, research in the climate and water sectors, sustainable management of natural resources, development of rural trade and the green transition.
The EBRD estimates Kyrgyzstan’s GDP grew by 9% last year and is expected to grow by 6% this year. The current government promotes sustainable tourism, green energy, environmental issues, health care, and the development of the water and education sectors. In Kyrgyzstan, Finnish products, know-how and technology are highly valued.
The recommended departure from Helsinki is 22.5. (Turkish Airlines) and return 28.5. The participant can also book flights at other times if they wish, but separate airport transfers may not be arranged at other times.

The program below will be organized 23.5.–27.5.
3 days around Lake Issyk Kul (Fri-Sun)
The participants can meet producers of various products (agricultural products, wool products, yurts) and enjoy the mountain nature around the second largest mountain lake in the world at an altitude of 1.7 km, which is also the largest tourist destination in the region:
- Exploring the mountains, its valleys and peaks
- Possibility to stay overnight in a yurt
- Nomadic cultural programme such as horse riding, folk music and dancing
- Possibility of bathing in a hot spring

2 days in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan (Mon-Tue):
- Joint Finnish-Kyrgyz Business Forum (Mon 26.5.)
- The Ambassador of Finland to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, representatives of the Kyrgyz government and business community, experts from international financial institutions and UNDP, and the Finnish participants
- Business meetings and company visits (Tue 27.5.), where local companies are invited are tailored according to the industries and wishes of the participating Finnish companies.
- Business forum, presentations and meetings will cover topics such as:
- B2B, B2G, B2C “dating conversations” and opportunity to company visits
- Projects by national and international donors in Kyrgyzstan in areas such as green technology, water management, circular economy and health care
- Funding opportunities for Finnish-Kyrgyz business cooperation
- Exports from Kyrgyzstan (agricultural products such as honey, prunes and apricots, walnuts, miscellaneous wool and silk products)

Business trip Information and Registration instructions
The trip will be arranged if at least 5 companies are taking part. A maximum of 12 companies can be accepted on the trip.
The price of the trip is 1850 € (+VAT 25,5%) / participant and 1450 € (+VAT 25,5%) excluding the Issyk Kul part of the trip. The price does not include flights between Finland and Kyrgyzstan (two way flight from Helsinki in Economy Class about 500–1000 €: Turkish Airlines – via Istanbul). If necessary, the organiser can assist in booking the flights.
The price includes accommodation in Kyrgyzstan, Business Forum and related events and meetings, travel within Kyrgyzstan including airport transfers and all meals, interpretation (Kyrgyz/Russian-English) and cultural programme.
